AI: Gender Bias or Keeping Women Ahead of the Curve?

  • Regional focus

  • Discussion type
  • Online Roundtable
Overview

Everyone is talking about Artificial Intelligence – but what does this mean for women in STEM? Is AI the answer for reducing bias and supporting the creative workflow of marketers working with digital omnichannel customer experiences? Or does it come with its own set of challenges?

Women make up only 22%* of AI professionals globally with numbers decreasing to 18%* in Europe. Gender bias is a pervasive issue when working with AI, and although a more diverse AI workforce may be the answer to improving creativity, innovation and more rounded decision making – at a user level, an increase of involvement by women is essential in addressing bias and discrimination.

Women across all industries need to be forward thinking in how they can utilise AI for its increased social impact. There's no need to fear that AI will replace the marketer anytime soon, but that doesn't mean marketers can't use AI to their advantage to improve the quality of their results or overall efficiency. Women need to think of AI as a competitive advantage, and what better way to do so than learning from women who live and breathe this narrative. Join us in this session where we’ll explore concrete examples of just that. Plus, ways to get the most out of your AI workforce but also, where to be cautious.

                  Overview

With employee disengagement costing the global economy $7.8 trillion in lost productivity, it's never been more essential for companies to prioritise employee experience and retention strategies to boost workplace engagement and wellbeing.

Women leaders possess a distinct advantage when it comes to cultivating workplace cultures that prioritise employee retention. Leveraging unique strengths and perspectives, women have the ability to cultivate thriving environments by emphasising diversity, empowerment, relationships, work-life balance, empathy, and equality. However, a crucial question arises: How can women leaders effectively utilise data to facilitate the creation of such thriving workplaces?

Data-driven decision-making plays a vital role in shaping successful organisations, and women leaders can harness its power to enhance workplace dynamics. By analysing relevant data points such as employee satisfaction surveys, retention rates, and performance metrics, women leaders can gain valuable insights into the factors influencing retention. These insights can guide strategic initiatives and inform targeted interventions that address specific areas for improvement.

Through its data-led approach, Gallup empowers organisations to build workplace cultures that drive employee engagement, productivity, and enthusiasm. By leveraging data-driven solutions and insights, Gallup helps organisations make informed decisions that are rooted in trustworthy data. This approach ensures that organisations can create effective workplace solutions that promote sustained employee involvement and optimal performance.

Join us in this discussion where we will address employee disengagement and explore how creating a positive work culture impacts the retention of valuable employees.
